Accessibility and Welfare

We want you to know what to expect.

QueerMCR uses different venues for different events, so accessibility arrangements, seating, lighting, noise, toilets and step-free access may vary. We don't want to promise features a particular venue hasn't confirmed.

Before booking

Please check the event listing and contact us if you need details about step-free routes, seating, accessible toilets, assistance requirements, flashing lights or quieter spaces. We'll check the venue-specific information available.

If you're attending alone

You're welcome to ask for help with introductions. There's no pressure to socialise constantly or remain for the entire event.

If something makes you uncomfortable

Speak to a QueerMCR organiser or the designated welfare contact at the event. For an immediate safety issue, alert venue security or staff. We take reports seriously and aim to handle them discreetly, with appropriate support for the people involved.

Photography and personal space

Events may include photography or filming. If you have concerns about appearing in content, contact the organisers and speak to the event team. Please respect other people's boundaries and consent.
